Memory & Persistence
Unlike most AI chat tools, Nebo remembers. It builds a persistent understanding of who you are, what you're working on, and how you prefer to work.
How Memory Works
Nebo stores memories locally in its SQLite database. These persist across sessions and restarts. Memory is organized by:
- Facts — things about you (role, preferences, expertise)
- Projects — what you're working on and the context around it
- Preferences — how you like things done (communication style, tools, formats)
- People — contacts, collaborators, relationships
Managing Memory
You can view and manage what Nebo remembers:
- Ask "What do you know about me?" to see stored memories
- Say "Forget about [topic]" to remove specific memories
- Use the Settings panel to view and delete memory entries
Privacy
All memory is stored locally on your computer. It's never sent to a cloud service, never used for training, and never shared with anyone. If you delete Nebo, all memory is deleted with it.
